 If you are located in the greater Denver area, you will have the flexibility to telecommute* as you take on some tough challenges. Telecommuting from out of state is not possible for this position.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Review documentation and charges to assure proper application of coding guidelines and policies are being met
  • Submit charges and maintain charge submission turnaround times
  • Communicate with providers and clinic staff regarding documentation and coding issues as well as communicate with front office clinic staff regarding insurance and payment matters
  • Assist MSO business office staff with claims rejections and denials for re-billing purposes
  • Understand risk adjustment coding principles and educate providers on such principles

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1+ years medical coding experience
  • CPC or CRC (Medical Coder Certification) 
  • Knowledge of ICD-10, HCPC and CPT coding and associated guidelines
  • Access to install secure high-speed internet (minimum speed 5 download mps and 1 upload mps) via cable / DSL in your home
  • If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener. Employees must comply with any state and local masking orders. In addition, when in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are expected to wear a mask in areas where physical distancing cannot be attained

Preferred Qualifications:

  • HCC coding experience
  • Medical chart auditing experience
  • Experience with Touchworks and Allscripts
