Customer Service Specialist

Large healthcare system is seeking an Intake Specialist who will be the first point of contact for patients interested in travel surgery. They explain in detail the programs and how to navigate the process to ensure full understanding and expedite appropriate candidates. They are a primary source of patient support and education to facilitate the benefit for HDP clients. This person will be the initial point of contact for patients who need surgery at other locations around the country.

This is a Contract to Hire position paying $15- 16/hr. based on experience – REMOTE

Required Qualifications

Work Experience :

1 Years Applicable Experience

Skills & Experience :

  • 2 years of Customer Service experience
  • At least 1 year experience with Healthcare/Managed Care
  • Claims Research
  • Data Entry
  • Remote work experience

Education :

High School Diploma or GED

  • Answer inquiries via phone and/or electronically for members and educate them on the process and steps.
  • Complete an intake by gathering and verifying information using HDP software system. .
  • Provide comprehensive and timely follow through on calls and emails requiring additional action by Intake Specialist and/or internal departments.
  • Document all communications, recording the action taken and the resolution in HDP software system.
  • Work closely with the Patient Centered Program staff, claims, eligibility and providers to resolve customer issues as appropriate.
  • Maintain professional customer-oriented service levels in both verbal and written communications.
  • Review, complete, and file program forms to ensure compliance with program parameters and HIPAA/PHI.
  • Assist in administrative functions to facilitate quality assurance, internal and external reporting.
  • Verify eligibility through client specific methods.
  • Assist member advocates in travel administration functions working with Patient Centered Program staff, finance and third-party travel partner.
  • Research and answer claims inquiries from providers, communicate internally and externally to document and resolve.
  • Assist in review and completion of Plans of Care as needed to ensure timely and efficient patient flows.
  • Assist in facilitating patient surveys utilizing electronically survey tool.
  • Attend team meetings as required and be a valuable contributor to the Patient Centered Program team
