Job Description SummaryAssist the Transamerica Asset Management (TAM) Chief Compliance Officer by performing compliance risk oversight of investment and operational risk activities relating to TAMs suite of mutual funds, commodity pools, and collective investment trusts. The position will contribute to the success of multiple compliance programs that are designed to prevent, detect, and assist in resolving potential violations of federal securities laws and regulations for TAM, the Fund complex, and Service Providers.Job Description

What You Will Do:

  • Manage and administer the operational, liquidity and derivatives compliance risk program designed to comply with the Investment Company Act Rule 38a-1, Investment Advisers Act Rule 206(4)-7, and applicable related regulatory requirements.

  • Coordinates and works with TAM Investment Management and sub-advisers regarding liquidity and derivatives risk management programs.

  • Develops and assists in the preparation of reports for the TAM Chief Compliance Officer concerning operational, investment, liquidity, and derivatives risk management programs.

  • Assists the TAM Chief Compliance Officer and/or appropriate Enterprise Operational Risk Management in assessing the divisions Compliance risks and conflicts and prepares assessments and reports as may be appropriate concerning such risks and conflicts.

  • Leads and conducts periodic risk assessments, risk control self assessments (RCSA), monitoring of risk events and key risk indicators (KRIs).

  • Partners with Third Party Risk Management for review and assessment of primary service providers and vendors to TAM and the Funds.

  • Develops, implements, and maintains policies and procedures, as well as reviewing, analyzing, and testing current policies and procedures, identifying, recommending, and implementing new and/or enhanced practices

  • Directs and assigns projects and provides guidance to Senior Managers, Managers, and other Compliance staff, as appropriate, to improve the efficiency of the department and of the division's Compliance procedures

  • Identifies analyzes, and resolves compliance risk issues

  • Manages highly complex Compliance risk matters with minimal supervision

  • Recommends and develops corrective action or revisions to policies and procedures based upon findings from internal audits, Compliance reviews, regulatory examinations, investigations, rule changes and/or industry trends as appropriate

  • Creates and executes employee training sessions or documents

  • Provides guidance on risk matters

  • Works with multiple functions, units, or locations of the division/business unit to develop cost-effective and common solutions to achieve regulatory compliance on a division-wide basis

  • Represents the company on industry committees and Compliance on company-wide projects regarding various risk issues

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or required designation(s), or equivalent experience .

  • Minimum 8 years of progressive risk experience with a large and diverse Investment Company organization, with at least 5 years experience in risk management functions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Superb critical-thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Advanced analytical, interpretive, and organizational skills

  • Proficient with all Microsoft Suite applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)

  • Proficient with risk analytics applications such as State Street Global Exchange truView or BlackRock Aladdin

  • Familiarity with Office 365 and associated applications

  • Securities designations or compliance designations a plus

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of Investment Company and Adviser Acts, Mutual Fund and ETF Compliance regulations, programs, and best practices

  • Ability to provide leadership in managing and achieving compliance project goals

  • Strong project management skills

  • Adaptability and flexibility

  • Comfortable engaging various technologies

It is estimated based on what a successful Colorado applicant might be paid. It assumes that the successful candidate will be in Colorado or perform the position from Colorado. Similar positions located outside of Colorado will not necessarily receive the same compensation. *

Compensation:

The Salary for this position generally ranges between $130,000-$170,000. This range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications, operational needs and other considerations permitted by law. The range may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Rule 4.1.2.

Bonus Eligibility:

This position is also typically eligible for an Annual Bonus based on the Company Bonus Plan/Individual Performance and is at Company Discretion.
