Job Duties and Responsibilities


  • Supervises and is responsible for timekeeping/pay issues and performance evaluation of assigned OJTs (On-the-Job Trainers)
  • Supervises and coordinates activities and efficiencies of OJT's providing training in a manufacturing work environment for the repair and refurbishing of satellite TV receivers and accessories
  • Reviews productivity of OJTs daily for accuracy and compliance with established training procedures, and determines workload for team members
  • Determines work procedures, prepares work schedules, and expedites workflow
  • Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates
  • Traces history of unresolved issues to determine reasons for errors or needed corrections and recommend remedial actions to resolve discrepancies
  • Other responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training OJTs: planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
  • Conducts daily and weekly meetings with team members
  • Performs needs assessments to identify organizational training needs and develop programs to meet those needs
  • Works with senior managers and members of the Human Resources team to establish overall training goals
  • Works with managers and supervisors to assess the training needs of individual departments
  • Identifies and/or writes measurable learning objectives for training programs and courses
  • Uses adult learning principles to assist in the design of programs using environments such as classroom learning, demonstrations, one-on-one training, on- the-job training, or online learning
  • Formulates teaching outlines and determines instructional methods such as individual education, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, meetings, or workshops that create diverse opportunities for participants to connect with the content
  • Selects or develops teaching aids such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and resource materials
  • Selects, develops, and implements pre and post-testing procedures to assess learner needs and/or perform gap analyses
  • Manages training programs by evaluating the outcomes of training sessions at the "Four Levels": participant satisfaction, learning, application & behavior change, and business impact
  • Maintains records of trainees' progress and achievements in training database
  • Monitors training costs against budgets and ensure the most efficient use of company resources
  • Tests trainees to measure progress and to evaluate effectiveness of education program(s)
  • Reports on progress of employees under guidance during training periods
  • Reviews new & updated manufacturing documents and prepare team for training
  • Works collaboratively with cross-functional teams on projects, new product rollouts, and process evaluation
  • Revises design of and/or generates training curriculum and methods to improvement effectiveness
  • Manages mid- and long-term training schedule and forecasting
  • Develops and maintains data collection methods, department reports, and data analysis to use for forecasting, training program assessment, and stakeholder reporting
  • Assists in the implementation and sustainment of the training learning management system
  • Works in partnership with Human Resources and the LEAD team to facilitate or co-facilitate leadership courses
  • Reviews designs for errors before printing or publishing them
  • Meets deadlines and keep all stakeholders informed of progress
  • Determines learning and materials requirements for L&D projects

  • Proficient in delivering face-to-face training and online learning, using best practices that apply to both environments
  • Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning principles, training program evaluation, and curriculum development, including principles, models, and trends
  • Writing proficiency: excellent communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate technical information
  • Ability to create a positive learning environment, facilitate learning, manage challenges, and evaluate learning
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills and experience
  • Motivated self-starter with strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ability to build and manage internal relationships, carry out negotiations, and understand customer needs and market requirements
  • Ability to effectively and accurately work on several projects at one time, organize and prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of training delivery, design, development, and evaluation techniques
  • Collaborative approach to working with team and clients
  • Scheduling protocols and have more than a general knowledge of reporting/tracking mechanisms
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong time management skills

High School Diploma, Associate's Degree or 4 years of Manufacturing operations experience; Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university or two years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Ability to effectively interact with all levels of organizational staff. Competencies include excellent presentation/facilitation, organizational, analytical, interpersonal and written/oral communication skills. Must be flexible, innovative and have the ability to manage responsibilities and priorities in a fast-paced, growth-oriented and time-critical environment.


Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions and percentages and ability to apply concepts. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.


Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Think independently and have the capability of addressing team member problems. This is a highly skilled position that required the ability to make decisions on business processes, identification and remediation of errors, and issues with existing processes.


May be required to travel and be in possession of a valid personal credit card for reimbursement purposes. A minimum of 10 current certifications or lateral move from another department. Successful completion of the Manufacturing Training Department OJT Trainer Certification.

Salary Range

Compensation: $70,000.00/Year - $88,000.00/Year
