Rating Analyst, USPF - States/Transportation
The Role: As a Ratings Analyst, you will participate in evaluating the credit quality of governmental enterprises financing transportation projects and state governments. You will be responsible for aggregating data and information to present to rating committees. You will interact with clients, make presentations, and prepare reports for internal and external distribution. This position will also include managing and processing large data sets.

Your Skills: A supportive team is critical to growing the skills of any junior staff member. At the same time, requisites for success include the ability to work with little supervision and with colleagues across multiple offices. In addition, you should have understanding of accounting principles, ability to manage against tight deadlines, critical thinking skills and the ability to clearly express and support your opinions verbally and in writing. Quantitative analysis is also part of the everyday work mix, so you should also have demonstrated skills in that area and possess strong excel skills.

- BS/BA or similar degree with quantitative experience and/or studies in finance, government/public policy, economics, or related field
- Two years of relevant work experience
- Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment with excellent time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to be highly organized, detail-oriented and to multitask
- Strong work ethic and ability to work well both independently and as part a team
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact confidently with clients
- Strong computer skills, including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong ability to work with financial models and data, including cash flow and credit models
- A demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and an openness to change
- Knowledge of credit analysis and demonstrated interest in municipal transportation enterprise and state government sectors a plus

Compensation/Benefits Information :
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $46,200, to $100,000. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location.
