13 Week Travel Assignment

America Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and CO RN License and/or Compact License.

Education:
Bachelors degree in nursing is preferred

Medical ICU (MICU)

The Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) is a busy 24-bed unitproviding care for critically ill adult medical patients. We care for a widevariety of diseases and conditions that include (but are not limited to)pulmonary diseases, septic shock and multi-organ failure, GI bleeds, liver disease,acute respiratory failure, and drug overdose. Therapies common to the MICUinclude ventilator support, vasoactive medications, continuous renalreplacement therapy, invasive hemodynamic monitoring, and post-arrest targetedtemperature management. Job Duties:

Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.

Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.

Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.

Evaluates the learning needs of the patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances. Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel. May precept student nurses and new hires.
