Robert Half has partnered with a real estate firm in Greenwood Village in search of a Sr. Accountant! The Sr. Accountant position is offering a flexible and hybrid work schedule and is paying $70,000-$85,000 + bonus potential!

The Sr. Accountant will be responsible for the following:

• Responsible for supporting the timely and accurate accounting close of assigned ledgers and property portfolios, up to approximately 150 properties
• Perform various general ledger accounting tasks in a complex, multi-entity environment
• Develop, document and post journal entries
• Cash transactions
• Prepaids and accruals
• Consolidation and elimination entries
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts, supported by best-practice-quality documentation
• Prepare and analyze financial statements for individual properties and portfolios of properties
• Review journal entry and balance sheet account reconciliation documentation prepared by others Supervise one to three specialist or staff-level accountants
• Apply critical thinking and Excel skills to analyze large data sets and find insights into financial results. Includes analyzing variances to budgeted and prior period amounts
• Analyze and communicate to management variances to budgets and prior periods.
• Assist in preparing recurring and ad hoc management reports, including financial reporting to investment partners
• Prepare support in response to internal and external audit request
• Assist in preparation of monthly financial statements for individual stores and various property portfolios
• Ensure policies, procedures and internal controls are in place to protect company assets and ensure financial statement accuracy
• Oversee registration of business entities with relevant jurisdictions
• Oversee timely filings and remittance of taxes, including sales & use taxes and property taxes
• Navigate state, city and municipal government requirements to obtain business licenses
• Assist in system implementations 

Requirements for the Sr. Accountant include:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
• 3+ years of accounting experience
• Real estate/property management experience is nice to have, but not required
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
