Description

This role works with software test engineers and developers to make hard-to-test features more testable for QA and understands the inner workings of technologies that have been tested.  This position understands the importance of manual testing and also knows that automated regression tests are vital. This position is responsible for ensuring the Software Test Engineers evaluate and test software applications to verify that applications function according to specifications and standards

Essential Job Functions:

  • Lead software test engineers. Develop, mentor, and provide guidance, training and motivation as necessary
  • Assign resources to meet schedule and goals
  • Drive Software Test Engineering Best Practices and Strategies (Automation, Performance and Load Testing, Security Testing, HA/DR Testing)
  • Contribute to longer term roadmap and planning to enhance the organization's testing capabilities
  • Help team identify conflicting priorities and makes timely decisions
  • Engage with senior leadership on more complex decisions, framing and escalating issues as needed
  • Continuously assess and improve processes within their scope, considering the impact on upstream and downstream groups, and recommends improvements in processes they interact with
  • Realistically assess resource implications for projects 
  • Own end-to-end performance management process for team
  • Recognize and work to develop great talent
  • Apply mastery of software engineering to design, influence and drive Quality and testability of products and services
  • Determine methods and procedures to ensure quality software and services on new assignments
  • Coach and mentor others on Quality methods and techniques
  • Participate in special projects and performs other duties as assigned
  • Review and contributes to software application documentation
  • Is Go-To person on challenging problems
  • Consistently anticipates correctly and takes appropriate actions
  • Supports and peer reviews team members
  • Actively participates in senior internal customer interaction
  • Possesses strong interpersonal skills
  • Displays evidence of high personal goals and high integrity
  • May participate in internal and external customer interaction at senior and management levels
  • Such other activities as may be assigned by your manager

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field or equivalent level of education and experience
  • 5 years+ Management experience
  • Advanced white box design and testing techniques
  • Proficiency with automation methodologies
  • Risk assessment methodology
  • Selection and application of diverse QE processes
  • Dependency analysis skills
  • Proficiency with product-relevant testing and process tools
  • Schedule estimating at project level
  •  .Net Development and Automated Testing
         o C# Programming
         o MS Visual Studio
         o NUnit
  • Selenium Web Driver
  • Maven
  • SQL
  • Jenkins or other Build System
  • Github or other Source Control System
  • Design Patterns
