The Director/Senior Director of Human Resources will deliver on human resources tactics and strategies allowing Company to provide a great work experience for employees.  This is a newly created position to support structuring total rewards programs, managing complex employee relations issues, developing workplace policies, and innovating on talent management in a multi-state, multi-unit organization.   

The ideal candidate in this role must be flexible, hands on and able to support our rapidly evolving business landscape as we emerge from the global pandemic.  The person in this role has the unique opportunity to not only help shape the role, but allow CPY to be at the forefront of talent strategy innovation as the largest yoga company in the US.  This role reports directly to the SVP of Human Resources and will have direct reports.

- Act as strategic partner to the SVP of Human Resources on topics including: total rewards, employee relations, compliance and policy development, and overall talent management

- Ensure HR alignment with CPY’s evolving business initiatives and culture

- Develop and administer total rewards philosophy, policies, practices and programs to support Company’s culture and business objectives through progressive total rewards systems, including: incentive, benefit and leave, and recognition programs

- Manage salary administration practices including procedures for maintaining job descriptions, job evaluations, and salary banding

- Provide guidance and coaching to department heads, leaders, and HR Generalists on complex employee relations issues

- Develop an innovative performance management, individual development, and career pathing approach for field operations and Studio Support Center (SSC) employees; recommend talent management and succession planning initiatives to ensure business objectives can be met

- Mitigate risk by ensuring HR policies and programs are compliant with the regulatory requirements in each jurisdiction; ensure timely and effective communication of HR policies and programs

- Ensure that our human resource policies, practices, and programs support the business strategy, management principles, core values, and our culture

- Keep a pulse on employee engagement in the organization to ensure we’re delivering excellence in the employee experience

- Partner with organizational leaders on workforce planning strategies for field and SSC functions


- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or related field; Master’s Degree in Human Resources related field strongly preferred

- Minimum of 10 years progressive experience in human resources with at least five years’ experience managing an HR team

- Deep knowledge of employment laws, human resources policies, procedures and practices in a multi-state environment including previous experience with California; solid understanding of workers compensation

- Excellent leadership, communications, negotiation, investigation, and complaint resolution skills

- Ability to effectively influence, build trust, communicate, and interact with all levels of the organization

- Must be able to think and act strategically, but based on current state of the organization must be willing to roll up your sleeves on a regular basis

- Comfort with ambiguity, uncertainty, and a rapidly evolving business landscape

- Thorough knowledge of computer software: i.e. MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, HRIS systems

- Solution oriented self-starter with metrics driven analytical mindset driving decisions

- Must be able to work in a stationary position, move and walk around event and office spaces, and lift occasionally up to 25 lbs
