The Charter Technical Engineering Center (CTEC) facilities in Englewood, CO oversees the design and architecture of Charter's multi-billion dollar network infrastructure. We investigate, select, develop, and integrate technologies and solutions that meet the needs of the company for short, medium and long term initiatives. This includes the delivery of the technology plan and future architecture for Voice, Video, Data, Optical, Commercial, Cloud, CPE, Network and Access. JOB SUMMARY An industry veteran with extensive telecommunications experience, the Principal Engineer III is the leading technical expert within the Charter Voice Engineering organization. Through both a continued presence within industry standards bodies and speaking to internal senior-level leadership, the Principal Engineer III is expected to maintain an understanding of items relating to regulatory compliance, Product and Technology organization roadmap objectives, and ongoing Engineering initiatives in order to effectively facilitate inter-departmental understanding of existing voice-related technologies as well as future architectural development. The Principal Engineer III is a primary resource for other engineers, assisting with the development of complex designs and architectures while eagerly sharing information and experience in order to raise the knowledge and talent levels of others within the organization. Reporting to the Senior Director, Voice Engineering, the Principal Engineer III is based at the Charter engineering campus located in the south Denver area near the Centennial airport. A fixed-hybrid work schedule is observed, with the Engineer on-site a minimum of three days per week. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience. Participates in relevant standards bodies for architectural insight and to ensure Charter corporate needs are taken into consideration within the larger telecommunications industry. Closely follows FCC rulemaking and engages with Charter Legal teams to ensure ongoing compliance ith telecommunications regulations. Maintains technology roadmaps to enhance communications with internal technology teams and senior leadership. Contributes to the development of complex architectural designs, reviewing and offering constructive feedback on difficult technical requirements. Stays abreast of ongoing development initiatives, guiding and assisting as needed, in order to facilitate technical discussion and innovation. Presents technical designs and ongoing status to all levels of Charter leadership across multiple organizational verticals. Develops and fosters relationships with critical stakeholders representing all areas of Charter as well as external vendor leadership. Serves as Enterprise Architect within the Voice Agile Release Train. Adheres to industry specific local, state, and federal regulations, as applicable. Knows, understands, and follows company policy.
