General Summary:

The Program Manager is an essential member of the services team and PMO lead, working closely with services management in projects involving multiple technology practices from initiation to closure. As the Program Manager, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of projects and project managers for one or more of our clients. The Program Manager will lead highly skilled project managers and teams consisting of members from some or all of the departments to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget. This role is the focal point for communication to both clients and Senior Management up through Executive level.

Accountable For:

  • Project Management Leadership - Management and Accountability
  • Budget – Including time entry approval of assigned resources, purchases associated with the project, and invoice approval.
  • Milestones –Ensure the project adheres to the project plan and milestones agreed upon by the client and project team.
  • Communication – Manage the communication plan and be the focal point between the customer, the project team, and Solutions II management.
  • Risks – Active management of the risks and issues that arise during the project
  • Change Management – Ensure changes to the scope of work are actively managed, estimated, priced, and approved by clients prior to inclusion in any project.
  • Customer Satisfaction – In partnership with the client’s assigned client rep, the PM is responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction with regard to the execution of the project.

Position Responsibilities:

Additionally, the Program Manager will:

Oversee scoping and planning of assigned projects including the following areas:

  • Scoping of Work Activities – Document all activities, milestones, and deliverables associated with the project for sign-off between the project team and the client.
  • Budget Planning – Assist in determining the cost estimates, pricing, and expenses associated with a project for sign-off by the client.
  • Communication Planning – Document expectations for the client regarding communication for the project.
  • Risk Management Planning – Document all identified risks, issues, and pending decisions associated with the project and the plan for managing these items.

The Program Manager may also be required to assist in the following other areas:

Sales Support:

  • Creating and presenting proposals and Statements of Work for clients.
  • Meeting with clients to assist in identifying or qualifying new opportunities.
  • Assisting in the education of the sales team regarding Solutions II’s consulting and development capabilities
  • Mentoring Other Project Managers
  • Assisting on Other Projects as Needed (may not be in a Project Management role, but assisting with requirements gathering, testing, documentation, etc.)

Some travel is required. The amount of travel required for a given project is at the discretion of the project manager. Although most travel is expected to be by vehicle (in support of regional clients for all of Solutions II’s offices), some air travel may be needed depending on specific client locations

Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Expectations:

  • A current PMP Certification obtained through the Project Management Institute
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field and a minimum of four years of practical Project management experience.
  • Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered.
  • 3 - 6 years of Project Management with a focus on IT projects preferred.
  • Candidate must successfully pass a comprehensive background check.
  • Experience working in a Technical Consulting or MSP environment
  • Client centric environment managing daily client interactions
  • Background and experience working in a technical environment
  • Experience managing information technology projects and programs
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in the planning, execution, and reconciliation of projects
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to successfully function in a team environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication, as well as presentation skills
  • Demonstrated skills as a business analyst
  • ITIL experience preferred but not required
  • Applicable working knowledge of project management principles and practices, including planning and coordination, with success in project and program management handling large interdependent projects involving multiple clients and resources.
  • Appropriately manage resources, budgets, issues, and risks for the successful completion of projects
  • Understands business needs, conceptualize, and implement information systems that support business strategies
  • Anticipate issues and effectively involve key stakeholder to develop and implement solutions
  • Establish rapport and maintain customer satisfaction without compromising priorities
  • Interact with others to build consensus and get decisions implemented
  • Establish workflows, manage multiple projects, and meet necessary deadlines
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Manage technical staff including providing input to performance evaluations, recommendations for training, and discipline; facilitate team and client meetings effectively.

Job Type: Remote

Pay: $95,000 – $145,000 Annually
