Global Corporate Security manages the overall physical protection of Bank of America employees, clients and facilities around the world.  The Protective Services Manager (PSM) is responsible for providing security services and solutions that safeguard employees, clients, bank assets and the brand.

Position Overview

The PSM leads the implementation of our security program, policies and procedures in their geographic area of responsibility. The PSM is responsible for understanding/mitigating the threat landscape in their market, delivering security related training, and partnering with the line-of-business key stakeholders to provide security services to ensure business objectives can be achieved in a safe and secure environment. The PSM is at the forefront of incident response, factual information collection and timely dissemination of said information. The PSM will maintain all organizational and professional ethical standards, possess the ability to work independently under minimal supervision, and exercise independent judgment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct security assessments of financial centers, remote ATMs and administrative/operations buildings. Identify and remediate areas of risk/exposure

  • Respond to and handle incidents to include, but not limited to, robberies, burglaries, workplace violence, thefts and other security related incidents while providing timely updates and documentation

  • Coordinates incident response efforts with all appropriate parties, rapidly disseminating pertinent information and redirecting resources as needed.  Serves as both a liaison and information resource providing concise and accurate information and updates to upper management

  • Provide training to employees on appropriate security, safety and risk mitigation strategies (example: workplace violence, de-escalation, robbery response)

  • Act as a trusted partner by building and maintaining relationships with all levels of management in their geographic area of responsibility, ensuring awareness of the overall security landscape, upcoming events with potential security impact or heightened threat levels

  • Partner with external stakeholders such as property managers and external security experts to include local, state and federal law enforcement

  • Maintain strong understanding of corporate intelligence best practices and emerging industry trends and tools

  • Collect, document and preserve video, still images, documents and other material connected to an investigation and maintain it as part of the investigation workflow and case adjudication process

  • Oversee, help coordinate and/or provide direction to on-site management when dealing with crisis or emergency events

  • Oversee guard deployment strategy and security integrator work for their area of responsibility

  • Actively partner in the physical security planning and installation process for new facilities, renovations, ATM installations for security equipment review and policy requirements

  • Analyze and explain the value proposition of security initiatives to business and market leaders

Required Skills: 

  • Minimum of 4 years prior law enforcement, military or relevant private sector experience in physical and investigative security

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of law enforcement, corporate security experience

  • Experience managing in a fast-paced, rapidly-changing, and highly complex environment

  • Deep and broad Corporate Security competence with the ability to influence using a balance of subject matter expertise, business acumen, and relationship skills

  • Excellent Communication Skills (verbal and written) and be able to interact with internal customers/leadership

  • Strong customer service skills

  • Self-motivated, positive attitude and results oriented

  • Extensive knowledge and experience with current security technology to include, access control, CCTV, alarm systems and other specialty applications used in a corporate environment

  • Critical Thinking skills - have demonstrated abilities to make critical decisions

  • Influencing skills - have the ability to interact and work closely with internal and external stakeholders

  • Solid Computer Skills – working with MS Office suite

  • Valid Driver’s License

  • Must be able to provide own transportation to respond in a timely fashion to events

  • Must be able to travel 15-20%.

  • Must be able to respond to matters and issues off regular work hours

  • Must be willing to serve on a rotating on-call basis
