We are searching for a Senior Manager for Technology Planning & Execution (TP&E) to join our exceptional leadership team. In this role, you will lead the IRAD planning process and execution across the ATC. Your responsibilities will include:
• Leading IRAD planning and coordinate interactions within the enterprise playing a key role interfacing with Space Lines-Of-Businesses (LOBs)
• Interfacing with Strategy and Business Development, as well as other organizations within E&T, other Business Areas (BAs) and Corporate
• Serving as the primary point of contact and spokesperson for ATC-wide IRAD portfolio
• Coordinating IRAD and CRAD reviews at the ATC level and represent the ATC in enterprise IRAD status reviews
• Managing the ATC engineering training budget and oversee the budget allocation process As a direct report to the Vice President of the ATC, you will be responsible for defining strategy, and leading your team to expand ATC engagement in the professional community, as well as within the LM Space and the Corporation, driving business growth through innovation. We are seeking someone who understands how to lead a team of highly accomplished scientists and engineers. You identify as a strategic thinker who can establish and map out strategic threads of the business. You will develop a long-term capability vision and the enabling technology roadmap for its implementation. You should have demonstrated experience in technology development and insertion into space and missile systems, and a strong track record working with the science and technology community, including government organizations, small businesses and universities. Some additional desirable background would include:
• Managing a broad technology portfolio
• Familiarity with one or more of the Space mission areas
• Experience with technology development and successful track record of transition to programs
• Strong program management skills and ability to mentor Principal Investigators and subject matter experts We will look to you to cultivate a collaborative team environment. • At least 5 years of experience in technology development and/or program management
• Broad knowledge in one or more of the following areas: -- Space Sciences and Instrumentation
-- Optical Sensing and Laser Technologies
-- AI and Data Analytics
-- Communications and Networking
-- Hypersonics and Advanced Materials
• Demonstrated experience in leadership and management of technical personnel and/or technology portfolio
• US Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a US government clearance.
Desired Skills:
• Current Top Secret clearance (or higher), or equivalent
• MS or PhD degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or closely related area
• Experience managing a broad technology portfolio and familiarity with one or more of the Space mission areas
• Experience with technology development and successful track record of transition to programs
• Strong program management skills
• Demonstrated ability to mentor Principal Investigators and subject matter experts • Possess top-secret and/or SCI clearance
