Department Summary:

Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer of Dish Technologies, the SVP of Manufacturing and Distribution manages factories and distribution centers, including internal and partner sites, both onshore and offshore. This role sets strategy for the production, manufacture and distribution of both consumer electronics for delivery of video and wireless services, and cell site hardware for the company’s 5G network. Core functions this executive manages include shipping, receiving, warehousing, inventory control, production, quality assurance, IT systems development, staffing, materials management, training, and finance.

We are a rapidly changing business. As such, this leader will serve as a thought partner to the COO and to various business leaders across the organization in planning, innovation, insourcing some parts of the work that is currently outsourced to other distribution partners, plan for growth of new businesses, etc. This leader will have a strong background in logistics, supply chain and remanufacturing, but also have very strong commercial acumen.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple factories and distribution centers to meet fulfillment commitments to support Sales. These operations must operate at high standards of labor efficiency, material usage, and quality.
  • Manage a P&L with multiple cost centers and revenue streams.
  • Plan capacity, staffing, and capital expenditures.
  • Oversee automation projects and systems enhancements to add speed, reduce errors, remove labor, and create enhanced opportunities for employees.
  • Engage in partner selection and strategic sourcing of new products and suppliers, particularly in support of DISH’s Wireless businesses.
  • Oversee facility improvements, expansions, and acquisitions.
  • Be on call for due diligence in event of business acquisitions, combinations, etc.
  • Build a strong team; Identify and promote high performers, ensuring executive level visibility, rewarding assignments and broad exposure on cross functional teams.
  • Manage professional and hourly employee recruiting, training, development, engagement and retention.
  • Set and monitor challenging Objectives and Key Results (OKR) targets for all teams, ensuring cross organization alignment.
  • Ensure meaningful and challenging goal plans, development plans, and performance appraisals for all employees.
  • Conduct succession planning for key roles
  • Act as a change agent to drive technology evolution across the workforce.

  • Strategic and operational leadership with in-house and outsourced operations.
  • A strong working knowledge of product development and procurement processes.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and managing an operating budget.
  • Ability to drive projects to a successful completion.
  • Proven ability to create and maintain strong business relationships and influence suppliers.
  • Demonstrated experience as a change agent with ability to build trust, influence and communicate at all levels in the organization.
  • Ability to motivate team efforts to accomplish goals and recognize success.
  • Understanding of complex business needs and decision drivers within an organization; able to consider available facts, constraints, competitive circumstances and probable consequences of various actions.

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in an Engineering or Business discipline and 10+ years related work experience, including 5+ years management experience; or equivalent
  • MBA or Master's degree strongly preferred.
  • Six Sigma or Lean qualifications with demonstrated implementation experience;
  • OSHA, Workers Comp and EEO experience
  • Proficiency with Google Platform and Microsoft Office

Salary Range

Compensation: $300,000.00/Year - $375,000.00/Year
